When I moved to NY from Milan, Italy, in 2005, my life suddenly got hectic and exciting, filled with endless new people to meet and interesting new places to explore 24/7. Shortly after, I started developing severe allergies and feeling exhausted all the time, mentally and physically. My new lifestyle was taking a toll on my health.
When I first came to Yoga, I didn’t know much about it. I was bouncing around various studios in NY with different teaching styles, looking for the most physically challenging class (I did like a good sweat) and the cheapest deal (I was young and penniless) until I discovered Jivamutki Yoga, which became my foundation practice for many years, learning from outstanding teachers about the history and philosophy of Yoga, kirtan, Bhakti, alongside meditation and asana.
Almost ten years after the start of my yoga journey, I stumbled upon the Ashtanga method, which was love at first sight, and profoundly changed my approach to the practice. I’ve been practicing Ashtanga since 2014 at The Shala Yoga in NY, under Barbara Verrochi and Kristin Leigh's guidance. I have traveled to Mysore, India, to deepen my studies with Sharath R. Jois. Ashtanga has given me structure, an understanding of my body in space, breathing awareness, mental focus, and deeper feelings of grounding, calm, and joy.
My teaching journey sprouted from the desire to share the goodness of Yoga with other people since it has brought me so many physical, mental, and emotional benefits. I received my 200 hours and 300 hours teaching certifications from The Shala Yoga, and I am a 500hRYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with the Yoga Alliance.
I have been fortunate to teach and share my love for this practice since 2015. My vinyasa classes focus on breath and alignment; I work with students from all levels, and I believe in adapting the practice to be accessible to anyone.
Meditation, Yoga philosophy, and Mindfulness studies are a big part of my life and practice, and I enjoy sharing this knowledge with students. On top of incorporating some of these teachings in every Asana class, I also guide group seated meditation sessions weekly.
